Job Title: Network Security Analyst II
Location: Austin, TX, 78701
Duration: 11 Months (with Possible Extension)
Work Mode: Onsite/ Contract


Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Network Security Analyst II to support enterprise cybersecurity and security operations. The candidate will monitor security events, investigate threats, respond to incidents, identify vulnerabilities, and help protect critical network and information systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, threat detection, incident response, and network security. Experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Kusto Query Language (KQL) is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor security alerts, network traffic, system logs, endpoint activity, and threat intelligence feeds.
  • Investigate suspicious activity, malware, vulnerabilities, and potential security incidents.
  • Perform incident triage, investigation, escalation, and documentation.
  • Use Microsoft Sentinel, SIEM, EDR, and NDR tools for security monitoring and investigations.
  • Create and maintain detection rules, dashboards, alerts, queries, and security playbooks.
  • Perform threat hunting using KQL, SPL, packet analysis, and endpoint telemetry.
  • Analyze network security events involving firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS, VPN, proxies, TCP/IP, and network segmentation.
  • Assist with vulnerability, risk, and security control assessments.
  • Identify indicators of compromise and suspicious attacker behavior.
  • Work with network, infrastructure, cloud, endpoint, and application teams to resolve security issues.
  • Prepare incident reports, investigation documentation, metrics, and recommendations.
  • Support security audits, compliance activities, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, attack techniques, and security best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, security operations, or incident response.
  • Strong knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, XDR, and NDR technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Strong knowledge of KQL and SPL and ability to write security queries.
  • Experience with security log collection, monitoring, and analysis.
  • Experience with SIEM platform/architecture support.
  • Experience with detection engineering and implementation.
  • Knowledge of threat intelligence and indicators of compromise.
  • Strong understanding of network security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS, VPN, TCP/IP, proxies, and segmentation.
  • Experience investigating and responding to security incidents.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, and HIPAA.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Microsoft security certifications such as Security Operations Analyst, Azure Security Engineer, or Cybersecurity Architect.
  • Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC, or Splunk certifications.
  • Experience in healthcare or public-sector security environments
