Job Description

Job Title: L2 Technician Data Center

Location: Reno, NV or Santa Clara, CA or Manassas, VA

Work Mode: Onsite (5 Days/Week)

We are seeking a hands-on L2 Data Center Technician to support server and network infrastructure operations in a fast-paced data center environment. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, hardware expertise, and the ability to collaborate closely with remote network and system administrators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot server hardware issues; identify and isolate root causes with support from remote network/sys admins
  • Coordinate procurement of replacement parts, install components, and manage RMA/return shipments with vendors
  • Perform server firmware upgrades to ensure systems run on approved versions
  • Configure server IP addresses and default credentials per standard procedures
  • Support network-related tasks including cable replacement/re-routing, optics replacement, and hardware upgrades
  • Rack, stack, and cable servers/switches to enable remote configuration and validation
  • Provide hands-on assistance for ad hoc server and switch requests
  • Perform structured cabling as per approved wiring diagrams and validate connectivity with network teams
  • Conduct physical inspections and inventory audits of servers, components, and consumables

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in a Data Center or enterprise IT infrastructure environment
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware, cabling standards, and network components
  • Experience with firmware upgrades, hardware replacement, and RMA processes
  • Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams and standard operating procedures
  • Strong troubleshooting and coordination skills
  • Comfortable working fully onsite in a physical infrastructure environment
