Journeyman Systems Engineer

GovCIO LLC seeks a Journeyman Systems Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, mission critical systems for federal customers within our Information Technology & Technical Support organization. In this role, you will collaborate with cyber security analysts to develop and integrate security solutions, harden infrastructure, and ensure compliance with federal standards. You will optimize performance, automate routine tasks, and document architectures while contributing to GovCIO's culture of agility, innovation, and continual learning to transform government IT.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure IT systems for federal clients
• Collaborate with cyber security analysts to develop and deploy security solutions
• Harden operating systems, networks, and cloud environments to meet federal standards
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
• Support accreditation and compliance activities using NIST and RMF frameworks
• Automate routine tasks with scripting to improve reliability and efficiency
• Document architectures, configurations, and standard operating procedures
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs
