Full Stack Java Developer - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Full Stack Java Developer for a hybrid position (minimum 3 days per week onsite) with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC or Plano, TX. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.
We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Java Developer to design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-level applications within a core engineering organization. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java 17-21, Angular, and modern application frameworks, with a proven ability to support application upgrades, technology migrations, system integration, and performance optimization. This role requires strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering, architecture, and support teams to deliver scalable solutions in a complex enterprise environment.
Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain enterprise applications using Java 17-21 and modern Java development frameworks
• Develop and enhance front-end components using Angular, including upgrading Angular applications to newer framework versions
• Perform application and framework upgrades, assess compatibility, resolve dependency issues, and validate functionality across technology versions
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, and application integration components to support enterprise business requirements
• Troubleshoot complex application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to improve application stability, performance, and reliability
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and application validation to ensure code quality and minimize deployment risks
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, QA teams, and production support teams to coordinate development activities, resolve technical dependencies, and support application releases
• Analyze existing application architectures and identify opportunities to modernize frameworks, improve code quality, and optimize application performance
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering initiatives involving application modernization and technology upgrades
• Support production stability by investigating defects, addressing technical issues, and implementing sustainable solutions in collaboration with support teams
• Work independently to manage development assignments, troubleshoot technical challenges, and deliver solutions within established timelines
• Communicate technical findings, implementation plans, upgrade risks, and delivery progress to relevant stakeholders

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java 17-21
• Proficiency in Angular and TypeScript for front-end application development
• Experience upgrading Java applications, Angular frameworks, libraries, and related dependencies
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, data structures, and application architecture
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and backend services
• Proficiency in debugging, troubleshooting, unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing
• Understanding of application deployment, environment configuration, version compatibility, and release validation
• Experience with source control and collaborative development tools such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound technical judgment, and proactively resolve complex engineering issues
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple technical teams

Desired skills:

• Experience developing and supporting applications within large-scale enterprise environments, preferably banking or financial services
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Maven, or Gradle
• Familiarity with microservices architecture, distributed systems, and enterprise application integration
• Experience with SQL databases, application performance monitoring, and production troubleshooting
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices
• Experience supporting technology modernization initiatives, framework migrations, and application stability improvements
• Experience collaborating with globally distributed engineering, architecture, and production support teams

Pay range: $58.31 - $66.31 per hour
