Job Title: DevOps Engineer – Geospatial MAP Platform

Location: Columbus , OH  and New Jersey ,NJ

Work Model:  Onsite (5 Days in Office)

Work Authorization/Type: Contract

Experience Level: 8 to 10 Years

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with active AWS Certification to join our enterprise Geospatial MAP solutions team. In this role, you will design, automate, and operate resilient cloud-native infrastructure on AWS to enable location intelligence at scale. You will bridge infrastructure as code, automated CI/CD pipelines, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure high availability, security, and performance for critical mapping and spatial data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

·       Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, write, and maintain modular, reusable Terraform code to provision and manage highly available AWS resources supporting complex geospatial platforms.

·       CI/CD Automation: Build, maintain, and optimize robust automated build, test, and release pipelines using AWS DevOps native tooling and enterprise CI/CD frameworks.

·       Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Establish and maintain observability, error budgets, Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and runbooks to guarantee high availability and resilience across production services.

·       Geospatial Platform Support: Collaborate with data and product teams to optimize cloud infrastructure for high-throughput raster and vector data workflows, low-latency map rendering, and efficient spatial queries.

·       Monitoring & Observability: Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing to detect anomalies, analyze platform performance, and drive continuous operational improvements.

·       Cloud Security & Compliance: Enforce enterprise-grade security standards across AWS, including IAM least-privilege policies, VPC/network isolation, secret management, and compliance controls.

·       Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis: Triage and resolve complex multi-tier production issues across infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and data services; lead blameless post-mortems and implement durable corrective measures.

·       Cost & Capacity Planning: Track resource utilization, conduct regular capacity audits, and implement cost-optimization strategies for large-scale cloud workloads.

Required Skills & Qualifications

·       Experience: 8–10 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering managing production-grade systems.

·       AWS Expertise: In-depth, practical experience across core AWS services (VPC, EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, KMS).

·       Terraform Mastery: Demonstrated expertise writing reusable, secure Terraform modules, state management, and enterprise IaC workflows.

·       CI/CD & Automation: Strong background automating multi-stage deployment pipelines for containerized microservices and backend services.

·       SRE Practices: Proven track record with log management, metrics collection, distributed tracing, incident management, and automated remediation.

·       Collaboration & Work Model: Ability to work collaboratively on-site 5 days a week in a dynamic, day-shift team setting.

Certifications

Required: Active AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.

Preferred: HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.

Nice-to-Have Skills
Exposure to spatial databases and geospatial technologies (e.g., PostGIS, GDAL, GeoServer, Tile caching services).

Container orchestration experience using Amazon EKS/Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.

Python, Bash, or Go scripting for systems automation.
