Job Description

Role: Salesforce QA Lead (Manual Tester)

Duration: 3 months Contract

Position Summary: The Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Engineer role will occasionally leverage analyst and administrator skills when needed. They will assist in clarifying acceptance criteria for running manual and automated tests. They will gain a fundamental understanding of the Salesforce security model and be able to apply minor administrative changes when needed; this role wears many hats for our Scrum team.

Key Responsibilities:

● Estimates, prioritizes, and facilitates testing activities

● Assists with functional business requirements around data, process flows, use cases, triggers, and integration points when crafting acceptance criteria

● Ensures delivered functionality meets business and customer needs

● Designs, develops and executes manual and automated test scripts for the NSP system

● Models test scenarios based on acceptance criteria, and supports any testing efforts, including functional, regression, UAT, and smoke testing

● Performs quality assurance within sprint iterations; works closely with developers during test driven development to improve quality of delivery

● Validates defect fixes and that new features work as expected and do not cause regressions in affected areas

● Conducts exploratory and negative testing

● Identifies, thoroughly documents, triages, and tracks defects/bugs using JIRA tool

● Coordinates the evaluation, scope and completion of new feature requests using JIRA tool

● Conducts basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows and other routine tasks

● Provides occasional training support for various stakeholders

Required (KSAs):

● Strong verbal and written communication skills

● Team-oriented person and able to support the delivery team wherever necessary

● Strong understanding of business principles, systems improvement and testing, and software development methodologies and standards

● Excellent analytical skills with ability to create systematic and consistent requirement specifications in both technical and user-friendly language

● Expertise in a diverse variety of IT process improvement concepts, practices, and procedures

● Great attention to detail and ability to identify, isolate and document defects in software

● Demonstrated project management skills

● Salesforce platform and testing approach knowledge preferred

● Understanding of APEX and Salesforce test classes

Education and Experience Requirements:

● Bachelor''s Degree in CS or related field and at least 4+ years of technical work experience

● Ideally, 1-3 years of Salesforce experience in Service Cloud, test classes, Apex coding, or administration preferred

● Strong experience with functional (manual) testing of software applications

● Strong experience writing test automation for software applications preferred

● Experience writing acceptance criteria around business process design, data modeling and reengineering

● Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and working experience in Agile environment is strongly desired

● Ability to adapt to 2-week sprint cycles and experienced in the full software lifecycles from design to deployment

● Knowledge of Java, Git, and CI/CD is preferred but not required

● Experience with performance and/or stress testing is preferred but not required
