Functional Tester

Role : Functional Tester / Quality Engineer 

We are looking for an experienced Functional Tester / Quality Engineer with healthcare domain experience to validate business and system functionality across healthcare platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of healthcare processes, including member enrollment, claims processing, provider data, benefits, and payments.

The candidate will work closely with Product Owners, Business SMEs, and development teams to ensure system functionality meets business requirements and delivers high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate business and system functionality across healthcare applications and platforms.
• Understand and test healthcare business processes, including member enrollment, claims processing, provider data, benefits, and payments.
• Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories to develop test scenarios and test cases.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate healthcare data accuracy, business rules, and system workflows.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business SMEs, and development teams to clarify requirements and resolve functional issues.
• Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies.
• Identify, document, track, and retest defects to ensure issues are resolved.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business stakeholders.
• Ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare test execution reports and communicate testing progress, risks, and quality status.

Required Skills

• Experience in Functional Testing or Quality Engineering within the healthcare domain.
• Strong understanding of healthcare payer business processes.
• Knowledge of member enrollment, claims processing, provider data, benefits, and payment workflows.
• Experience with manual testing, test case development, and defect management.
• Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into test scenarios.
• Experience working with Product Owners, Business SMEs, and development teams.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar test management platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with healthcare payer platforms.
• Knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HIPAA, EDI, and X12 transactions.
• Experience with SQL for backend data validation.
• Exposure to API testing and integration testing.
• Experience with claims adjudication, eligibility, provider management, and benefits administration systems.
