System Design Electrical Engineer (Mid-Level)

Location: Hazelwood, MO

Overview
is seeking a Mid-Level System Design Electrical Engineer to support the Central Maintenance Computing Systems (CMCS) team. This role focuses on the design, integration, testing, and sustainment of maintenance computing equipment, avionics interfaces, network infrastructure, and hardware/software systems supporting aircraft and weapons platforms.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and document electrical systems, wiring, interfaces, and schematics.
• Support hardware/software integration, system testing, verification, and validation.
• Develop system requirements and interface specifications.
• Create wiring solutions for test articles and subsystems.
• Support lab and flight test instrumentation and data acquisition efforts.
• Select electrical components including cables, connectors, and terminal hardware.
• Collaborate with test and installation teams.
• Troubleshoot and support fielded hardware and software throughout the product lifecycle.
• Utilize MBSE tools (DOORS, Cameo) to develop system architectures and perform trade studies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience with electrical/avionics systems design and integration.
• Experience with hardware/software integration and laboratory testing.
• Knowledge of VPX/VME architectures.
• Familiarity with communication protocols/interfaces including RS-232/422, TCP/IP, Ethernet, PC104, IEEE-488, and MIL-STD-1553.
• Experience with system development and integration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and Security+ certification.
• Network design experience.
• Familiarity with military standards (MIL-STD-).
• Experience creating electrical schematics using CAD tools.
• Experience with DOORS, Cameo, MBSE, and Earned Value Management (EVM).

Ideal Background
Candidates with experience in aerospace, defense, avionics, embedded systems, or military platforms are strongly preferred.
