Job Description

JR327: Generator Field Service Engineer<br />Location: Manchester/Liverpool<br />Salary: £33,750 - £40,000 Per Annum + Progression + Bonus + Overtime + Company Vehicle Overview: First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to support a growing South East operation, carrying out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a fleet of rental generators. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high levels of customer service while working both independently and alongside internal teams. Duties and

Responsibilities:

Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel generators.<br />Diagnose faults and complete repairs on rental generators, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.<br />Conduct site surveys to assess customer requirements and maintenance needs.<br />Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support when required.<br />Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring company vehicles and work areas are clean, safe, and well organised.<br />Comply with company quality, environmental, energy management, and health &amp; safety procedures.<br />Deliver excellent customer service while building positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.<br />Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the success of the engineering team.<br />Skills and

Qualifications:

Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, Plant Maintenance, or a similar discipline (e.g. City &amp; Guilds or BTEC), or completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship.<br />Proven experience servicing and repairing generator sets, particularly FG Wilson, Cummins, or similar equipment.<br />Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.<br />Previous experience in a field service engineering role is advantageous.<br />Full UK driving licence.<br />Excellent communication and customer service skills.<br />Ability to work independently and as part of a team.<br />ECS, CSCS or CCNSG card is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.<br />Benefits: Bonus Scheme<br />Training, upskilling, and career progression<br />Company pension scheme<br />Buy and Sell Holiday scheme<br />Private medical scheme<br />Life assurance scheme<br />23 days holiday (plus bank holidays) – increasing with length of service up to 28 days<br />JR327: Generator Field Service Engineer<br />Location: Manchester/Liverpool<br />Salary: £33,750 - £40,000 Per Annum + Progression + Bonus + Overtime + Company Vehicle
