Position Overview

Support a strategic Public-Private Asset Management transformation program focused on evolving business processes, operational workflows, data requirements and technology solutions across multiple workstreams.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with investment teams, investment operations, business stakeholders, product owners, data teams and technology partners to translate complex investment management requirements into actionable business and functional specifications.

The ideal candidate brings strong asset management or investment management industry experience, deep understanding of the investment lifecycle, and hands-on business analysis expertise across business process optimization, requirements management and technology transformation.

What You'll Do / Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders, investment teams, operations and technology teams to understand business objectives, challenges and transformation requirements.

• Elicit, analyze, document and validate business and functional requirements across multiple program workstreams.

• Develop BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases and acceptance criteria.

• Analyze existing business processes and workflows, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and recommend process optimization opportunities.

• Develop current-state and future-state process maps, workflow diagrams and business process documentation.

• Analyze the end-to-end investment management lifecycle, including front-office investment activities, portfolio management, trade processing, investment operations and reporting.

• Support requirements across public and private asset classes, including operational workflows, integration points and data requirements.

• Collaborate with investment operations, data and technology teams to understand application interfaces, data flows, system dependencies and business impacts.

• Facilitate business requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews and working sessions to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities and drive consensus.

• Translate complex business and operational requirements into clear specifications for technology teams, architects and developers.

• Perform gap analysis and impact assessments across business processes, applications, data and downstream systems.

• Partner with data teams to define data requirements, data mapping, data quality rules, reconciliation needs and reporting requirements.

• Identify and document business dependencies, assumptions, risks, issues and decisions impacting requirements and solution delivery.

• Support solution design reviews and ensure proposed solutions align with business objectives and documented requirements.

• Develop and execute test scenarios, support UAT, validate outcomes and coordinate defect resolution.

• Maintain requirements traceability from initial business requirements through solution design, development, testing and implementation.

• Prepare business-facing documentation, presentations and status updates for program leadership and senior stakeholders.

• Proactively identify requirement gaps, process issues and cross-workstream dependencies that could impact program delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Strong asset management / investment management industry experience is essential.

• Demonstrated experience working as a Senior Business Analyst on large-scale business or technology transformation initiatives within asset management or financial services.

• Strong understanding of the investment management lifecycle, including front office, investment operations, portfolio management, data management and technology interactions.

• Experience working with public and private asset classes and understanding their associated business processes and operational requirements.

• Proven ability to elicit, analyze, document and manage complex business and functional requirements.

• Hands-on experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, process flows and acceptance criteria.

• Experience with business process modeling, current-state / future-state analysis, gap analysis and impact assessments.

• Understanding of data flows, data mapping, data integration, data quality and reconciliation processes within financial services environments.

• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, product owners, solution architects, developers, QA teams and program leadership.

• Strong experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and independently driving requirement discussions with senior business and technology stakeholders.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex business concepts into clear functional requirements and documentation.
