Job Title: Senior Engineer - User Experience
Location: Plano, TX
Web & App Experience Design:
  • Own UX/UI design across responsive web and mobile app experiences, from initial concepts and wireframes through high-fidelity designs and implementation.
  • Design intuitive end-to-end customer journeys across discovery, consideration, purchase and post-purchase experiences.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes and high-fidelity designs that clearly communicate the intended customer experience.
  • Design mobile-first experiences while ensuring consistency and usability across desktop, tablet and mobile.
  • Ensure web and app experiences work together as a cohesive customer journey while optimizing for the unique behaviors and requirements of each platform.
  • Apply established design systems, UX standards and accessibility principles across experiences.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify customer journeys, reduce friction and improve usability and engagement.
  • Balance customer needs, business objectives and technical feasibility when developing design solutions.
User Testing & Experience Validation:
  • Plan and execute user testing and usability studies to validate concepts and experiences before and after launch.
  • Define testing objectives, scenarios, tasks and success criteria based on the experience being evaluated.
  • Build prototypes and design alternatives that enable effective customer testing.
  • Moderate user-testing sessions and evaluate qualitative and quantitative findings.
  • Identify customer pain points, usability issues and areas of confusion throughout the journey.
  • Translate testing findings into clear, actionable design recommendations.
  • Iterate designs based on customer feedback and testing results.
  • Partner with appropriate teams to incorporate user-testing insights into experience improvements and future design decisions.
  • Maintain a structured record of findings and learnings to help inform future experiences and avoid repeating known customer friction.
Design Execution & Optimization:
  • Take design work from concept through implementation, maintaining design intent throughout the development process.
  • Partner with Engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure approved designs are accurately implemented.
  • Participate in design QA and UAT to identify experience gaps prior to launch.
  • Review live experiences after launch to identify opportunities for continued optimization.
  • Use available customer feedback, behavioral insights and performance results to inform design improvements.
  • Develop and evaluate design alternatives when multiple approaches should be considered or tested.
  • Ensure experiences remain consistent with Samsung's broader digital experience and brand standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Represent Design and the customer experience throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Partner closely with Business, Merchandising, Engineering, Analytics and Product to understand requirements, constraints and customer needs.
  • Clearly articulate design rationale, user needs and user-testing findings to stakeholders.
  • Translate complex business requirements into simple and intuitive customer experiences.
  • Facilitate design reviews and working sessions to drive alignment and decisions.
  • Manage multiple design initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced eCommerce environment.
  • Proactively identify design dependencies, experience risks and customer-impacting issues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of professional experience designing complex digital experiences across both web and mobile applications.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX/UI design capabilities across responsive web and app experiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, prototyping and modern UX/UI design practices
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience planning, conducting and analyzing user/usability testing.
  • Ability to translate user-testing findings into actionable design improvements.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first design.
  • Experience designing end-to-end digital customer journeys.
  • Strong interaction and visual design skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
  • Experience working with established design systems and component libraries.
  • Ability to communicate design decisions and customer insights effectively to senior and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder-management skills.
  • eCommerce/D2C design experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience designing high-traffic transactional or commerce experiences preferred.
  • Must be able to work on-site at least four days per week.
