Job Description

Location: Bay Minette, Alabama
Department: Manufacturing / Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor / Manufacturing Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Rate: $24.00-$25.00 hr DOE 

Per Diem is $100 per day

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Insulators/ Crews to join our team at a new manufacturing facility in Bay Minette, Alabama. The Insulator will be responsible for installing, fitting, and maintaining thermal, acoustic, and/or mechanical insulation on equipment, piping, ductwork, vessels, and other industrial systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new plant during its startup and growth phase. The ideal candidate will take pride in quality workmanship, work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment, and be willing to help establish strong safety, quality, and production standards from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, fit, cut, fabricate, and secure insulation materials on industrial equipment, piping, tanks, vessels, ductwork, and related systems.
  • Read and interpret drawings, work instructions, specifications, and insulation schedules.
  • Measure surfaces and calculate material requirements to ensure accurate installation.
  • Select appropriate insulation materials based on temperature, application, equipment, and specifications.
  • Install insulation using appropriate fasteners, adhesives, bands, jacketing, vapor barriers, and protective coverings.
  • Fabricate insulation around valves, fittings, flanges, elbows, and other irregular surfaces.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure proper fit, coverage, appearance, and adherence to specifications.
  • Identify damaged, missing, or improperly installed insulation and make necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and fabrication equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, environmental procedures, and applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Participate in plant startup activities, including equipment installation, commissioning support, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with maintenance, engineering, production, quality, and other plant personnel.
  • Report safety hazards, equipment issues, material shortages, and quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts designed to improve safety, quality, productivity, and reliability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience installing industrial, commercial, mechanical, or process insulation.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to read basic drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other plant personnel.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of industrial insulation experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, steel, paper, or similar industrial facility.
  • Experience with pipe, vessel, duct, equipment, and removable insulation systems.
  • Experience with sheet metal jacketing or insulation fabrication.
  • Experience working around high-temperature equipment or process systems.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements and industrial safety practices.
  • Experience working in a plant startup, construction, commissioning, or expansion environment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and work for extended periods.

Ability to work from ladders, lifts, platforms, and elevated work areas when required.

Ability to work in confined spaces.
