Java Developer

Job Title and Skill Level – Java Developer, Level III

Designated Work Location - 40 North Pearl, Albany, NY 12220 

Duration of Engagement: 30 months

Hybrid, 50% on-site. NYS MIGHT approve 100% but must attend in-person meetings at the Albany office.  

Mandatory Qualifications: (MUST HIT ALL MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS OR WILL NOT BE INTERVIEWED):
1. Level III- More than seven (7) years of experience working on complex projects with 2 or more years in a leadership role as a Developer
2. More than 7 years of experience as a Java developer including experience in Java/J2EE and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
3. More than 7 years of experience with popular frameworks, particularly Spring (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security) and ORM technologies like Hibernate or JPA.

Desirable Qualifications:
1. More than 7 years of proven experience designing, building, and maintaining microservices architectures and RESTful APIs, including experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL), and NoSQL databases.
2. More than 7 years of experience with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito) and proficiency with build tools like Maven or Gradle.
3. More than 7 years of experience with major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including an understanding of containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
4. More than 7 years of experience with DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
5. 2+ years of experience working in a federal or state government setting (Health and Human Services, especially in Integrated Eligibility System programs such as PA, TA, SNAP, HEAP, Fair Hearings, Child Support, etc. preferred).
