Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer IV|
Contract
Columbus, IN, Onsite
Must have Engineering, Manufacturing

Required Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
 
Required Skills
• Fanuc HandlingTool or Fanuc Arc Tool experience (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process development and optimization.
• Experience with equipment selection, tooling solutions, and workstation design (including health, safety, and ergonomics).
• Proficiency in structured problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to apply manufacturing principles to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies 
• Ability to work fully onsite and commit to a split shift schedule (6 months days, 6 months nights).
 
Job Description
• Lead end-to-end manufacturing process development for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and business objectives.
• Apply advanced manufacturing principles to optimize equipment performance and drive efficient, scalable production processes.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Cummins standards and tools to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
• Establish and standardize manufacturing methods and best practices to ensure consistency and operational excellence.
• Influence and collaborate with key stakeholders, including business leaders and external partners, to drive alignment and successful project outcomes.
• Coordinate cross-functional and external resources to execute project deliverables on time and within scope.
• Serve as a technical leader by sharing expertise, coaching stakeholders, and strengthening overall team capability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization to support collaboration, knowledge sharing, and sustained process improvements.
• Support VPI (Value Package Introduction) Launch Activity.
