Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform Developer with strong Cloud Migration experience to design, develop, deploy, and migrate enterprise applications and data workloads to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services, application modernization, cloud migration strategies, data migration, Python/Java development, and CI/CD automation. The candidate will work closely with cloud architects, DevOps engineers, and application teams to ensure successful migration from on-premises infrastructure or other cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) to Google Cloud Platform.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, secure, and highly available applications on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Lead and support application and data migration from on-premises, AWS, or Azure to Google Cloud Platform.
  • Develop cloud-native applications and microservices using Python, Java, or Node.js.
  • Implement migration strategies such as Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, and Re-architect.
  • Work with Google Cloud Platform services including Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL.
  • Develop and execute database migration processes using Database Migration Service (DMS), Dataflow, and other Google Cloud Platform migration tools.
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and BigQuery.
  • Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices for cloud-based applications.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Configure IAM, VPC networking, firewall rules, service accounts, and cloud security controls.
  • Perform application performance optimization, troubleshooting, and post-migration validation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop migration plans, resolve technical issues, and minimize downtime.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years of hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end cloud migration projects.
  • Strong programming experience in Python, Java, or Node.js.
  • Hands-on experience migrating applications, databases, and workloads to Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform architecture, cloud-native development, and application modernization.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
  • Understanding of cloud security, networking, monitoring, and cost optimization.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer or Professional Cloud Architect certification.
  • Experience migrating large-scale enterprise applications to Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes-based application modernization.
  • Experience with BigQuery migration, ETL pipelines, and data warehouse modernization.
  • Familiarity with migration assessment, dependency mapping, cutover planning, rollback strategies, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Key Migration Experience Must Have
The candidate must demonstrate hands-on experience in:
  1. Application Migration: Migrating legacy applications from on-premises or AWS/Azure to Google Cloud Platform.
  2. Database Migration: Migrating Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL databases to Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, or other appropriate Google Cloud Platform services.
  3. Cloud Modernization: Refactoring monolithic applications into cloud-native microservices.
  4. Infrastructure Migration: Migrating virtual machines, storage, and network workloads to Google Cloud Platform.
  5. Migration Automation: Using Terraform, scripting, CI/CD, and Google Cloud Platform migration tools.
  6. Post-Migration Support: Performance tuning, validation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
