About the Role

The Development Services Branch plays a critical role in enabling sustainable growth across the Sunshine Coast. Working closely with industry, government agencies, developers and the community, the branch delivers expert assessment, advice and advocacy across planning, engineering, environment, landscape, building and compliance disciplines. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future development of one of Australia's fastest growing and most desirable regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the assessment of complex development applications, regarding civil and transport engineering.
  • Provide expert engineering advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor, coach and support team members to achieve high performance.
  • Manage compliance, inspections and delivery of development infrastructure
About you

You hold a recognised degree in Civil Engineering and meet the requirements for Engineers Australia membership and registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).

You are a highly experienced civil engineering professional with substantial expertise in development assessment and a passion for delivering sustainable development outcomes. Qualifications and experience in transport and traffic engineering will be highly regarded.

You bring strong technical knowledge of engineering legislation, standards, planning frameworks and development assessment processes, enabling you to navigate complex projects with confidence.

You are a natural leader who enjoys mentoring others, building collaborative relationships and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.

You have exceptional communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities and deliver practical solutions in a dynamic environment.
