The Infrastructure Senior Project Manager (Senior PM) leads complex, enterprise-wide infrastructure programs with an emphasis on supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and organizational integrations. This role oversees planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure initiatives-including technology platforms, facilities integration, network consolidation, data center migrations, or physical asset rationalization-resulting from corporate M&A activities. The Senior PM partners closely with executive leadership, corporate development, IT, engineering, facilities, and operational teams to align infrastructure strategies with business integration goals.

Infrastructure Senior Project Manager (with Mergers & Acquisition Experience)
The Infrastructure Senior Project Manager (Senior PM) leads complex, enterprise-wide infrastructure programs with an emphasis on supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and organizational integrations. This role oversees planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure initiatives-including technology platforms, facilities integration, network consolidation, data center migrations, or physical asset rationalization-resulting from corporate M&A activities. The Senior PM partners closely with executive leadership, corporate development, IT, engineering, facilities, and operational teams to align infrastructure strategies with business integration goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. M&A Integration & Divestiture Leadership
- Lead infrastructure workstreams within merger, acquisition, divestiture, or carve-out programs.
- Develop integration roadmaps for IT infrastructure, facilities, networks, operational systems, and physical assets.
- Assess newly acquired entities' infrastructure and identify gaps, risks, and required investments.
- Coordinate separation activities such as network segmentation, data migration, IT/OT system carve-outs, and facility transition plans.
- Support due diligence by evaluating technical risks, asset health, infrastructure maturity, and cost-to-integrate estimates.
- Manage multiple, large-scale infrastructure and capital projects across the full lifecycle.
- Develop project plans, budgets, schedules, resource requirements, and execution frameworks.
- Drive project governance, including steering committees, PMO reporting, and executive dashboards.
- Ensure that M&A-driven infrastructure projects align with integration milestones, TSA (Transition Services Agreement) timelines, and synergy targets.
- Partner with corporate development, legal, HR, finance, IT, engineering, and operations during all M&A phases.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and integration partners.
- Facilitate clear communication across all M&A and infrastructure stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Build cost models and budget forecasts for M&A integration and infrastructure modernization.
- Oversee procurement activities, contract negotiations, RFPs, and vendor performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, environmental, and industry-specific standards throughout integration.
- Identify integration risks, operational dependencies, and technical challenges associated with combining or separating infrastructure.
- Maintain risk registers, mitigation plans, and issue resolutions.
- Implement change-control processes for scope, budget, and timeline modifications.
- Oversee infrastructure assessments-including network, servers, cloud, data center, facility assets, or civil/utility infrastructure depending on organization type.
- Coordinate system migrations, facility consolidation, technology standardization, or infrastructure modernization post-acquisition.
- Ensure infrastructure solutions support future scalability, resiliency, and business continuity goals.
- Maintain comprehensive M&A integration playbooks, transition documentation, and audit trails.
- Support handoff to operations, facility management, or IT service teams following project completion.
- Conduct post-integration reviews to capture lessons learned and continuously improve M&A processes.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, business, construction management, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 8-15+ years of experience leading major infrastructure projects.
- 3-7+ years of direct M&A integration or divestiture project/program management experience.
- Experience working with cross-functional M&A teams (Corporate Development, Finance, Legal, HR, IT, Engineering, Facilities).
- PMP, PgMP, or PRINCE2
- ITIL (for IT infrastructure roles)
- Lean Six Sigma
- PE or relevant engineering licenses (for physical infrastructure roles)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of infrastructure domains (data centers, networks, cloud, facilities, utilities, or civil infrastructure-customize as needed).
- Deep experience integrating infrastructure and technology environments during M&A transactions.
- Ability to manage large budgets and complex vendor ecosystems.
- Advanced communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong analytical, risk management, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work under high-pressure M&A timelines with multiple concurrent priorities.
