Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Test Analyst 5 to support software quality assurance and testing activities for application development, enhancements, and technology initiatives.

The Software Test Analyst will work closely with developers, business analysts, IT teams, project teams, and business stakeholders to ensure applications and system changes meet business requirements and established quality standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
• Review requirements and identify gaps, inconsistencies, and potential quality risks.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and validate fixes.
• Develop comprehensive and repeatable automated test and regression test banks.
• Create testing metrics and measure test quality against defined requirements.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation, including SQL queries as needed.
• Test APIs, system integrations, interfaces, and application workflows.
• Conduct regression testing following application changes and releases.
• Support deployment and production validation activities.
• Maintain test documentation, test results, and defect tracking records.
• Provide regular updates on testing progress, defects, risks, and outstanding issues.
• Participate in requirements reviews, project meetings, and release planning.
• Recommend improvements to testing processes and overall application quality.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in any major; degree must be completed.
• 7+ years of experience in IT quality assurance, software testing, or systems analysis.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and executing test cases.
• 5+ years of experience identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects.
• 5+ years of experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar test/defect management platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL and database testing.
• Experience with API and system integration testing.
• Experience with automated testing tools.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience testing web-based and enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of SDLC and software testing methodologies.
• Experience supporting large-scale IT projects or system implementations.

Work Arrangement & Location Requirements

• Hybrid position requiring onsite work two days per week (Monday and Tuesday).
• Onsite work is required starting Day 1.
• Remote-only candidates will not be considered.
• Candidates must be located within approximately 1.5 hours of Lansing, MI.
• Candidates must be available for an in-person interview in Lansing, MI.
