Job Description

Role Summary

We are looking for a senior MES/MOM Solution Architect with 15+ years of experience in manufacturing technology, smart manufacturing, MES/MOM platforms, and Industry 4.0 solution architecture.

The person will support us in pre-sales, RFP responses, client presentations, and solution architecture discussions for a modern manufacturing operations platform. The solution is expected to be based on a hybrid cloud and edge architecture, where centralized cloud services manage configuration, governance, analytics, deployment, and enterprise integration, while plant-edge runtime services ensure reliable production execution, shop-floor responsiveness, local processing, and offline continuity.

This is a client-facing role. The ideal candidate should be able to understand manufacturing business requirements, define the technical architecture, prepare solution narratives, support effort estimates, participate in discovery workshops, and present confidently to senior IT, OT, plant operations, and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead MES/MOM solution architecture discussions for pre-sales, RFPs, proposals, and client presentations.

Design modern Industry 4.0 manufacturing operations architecture covering MES/MOM, cloud, edge, integrations, data, security, and deployment models.

Define hybrid architecture with:

o Centralized cloud configuration and governance

o Edge runtime for plant-level execution

o Offline or resilient manufacturing operations

o Secure cloud-to-edge synchronization

o Multi-plant scalability

Align the architecture with ISA-95 principles, connecting enterprise systems, manufacturing operations, supervisory systems, and plant-floor equipment.

Define integration architecture between MES/MOM and systems such as ERP, SCADA, PLCs, historians, QMS, WMS, CMMS, IoT platforms, and data platforms.

Support Kubernetes, containerization, microservices, API, and CI/CD deployment architecture for modern MES/MOM platforms.

Help define plant rollout strategy, starting from a pilot plant and scaling to multiple manufacturing sites.

Support RFP responses with solution approach, architecture diagrams, scope assumptions, dependencies, risks, exclusions, and implementation roadmap.

Present the solution to client stakeholders in a clear, practical, and business-oriented manner.

Required Experience

15+ years of experience in MES, MOM, manufacturing IT, industrial automation, enterprise architecture, or smart manufacturing.

Strong experience in designing or implementing MES/MOM solutions in manufacturing environments.

Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as production execution, work orders, routings, BOMs, recipes, quality checks, material tracking, downtime, OEE, traceability, and genealogy.

Strong knowledge of ISA-95 architecture and IT/OT integration.

Experience with hybrid cloud-edge architecture for plant operations.

Experience with at least one major MES/MOM platform such as Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, AVEVA MES, GE Proficy, Dassault DELMIA Apriso, SAP Digital Manufacturing, Critical Manufacturing, Tulip, or similar platforms.

Experience integrating MES/MOM with ERP, SCADA, PLCs, historians, QMS, WMS, CMMS, and industrial IoT systems.

Good understanding of modern platform architecture including Kubernetes, containers, APIs, microservices, CI/CD, DevOps, observability, and security.

Prior experience supporting pre-sales, RFPs, technical proposals, solution workshops, and executive presentations.
