Job Description

We are working with a highly established, International data centre delivery partner, offering full turnkey solutions from design through to construction and commissioning, who deliver projects across Europe.

They are looking for a dedicated Electrical Project Manager in the North East who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the full electrical scope of works across the project, ensuring all activities are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role will involve close coordination with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to drive project success and maintain strong communication at all stages.

If you are located outside the North East, all travel and staying over accommodation costs will be covered.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate all electrical installation activities across the project.

Coordinate electrical design and technical activities with internal teams and subcontractors.

Supervise and monitor ongoing works, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards.

Engage with clients and key stakeholders to maintain clear communication and alignment on project goals.

Liaise with design teams and subcontractors to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery.

Take a leading role in driving productivity and performance through effective weekly and daily work planning.

Uphold and promote high standards of Quality and Safety, ensuring all procedures are implemented and monitored effectively.

Track, analyze, and manage critical milestones to prevent schedule delays.

Monitor and manage labour, materials, and resource allocation to optimize performance.

Lead and mentor project teams, including engineers, package managers, supervisors, and foremen.

Work proactively with stakeholders to ensure teams, information, materials, and equipment are in place to support safe and efficient operations.

Coordinate activities with other subcontractors working in shared areas to ensure smooth, safe, and productive site operations.

Review and sign off on project documentation and weekly foremen reports, ensuring all issues are tracked and closed out promptly.

Prepare and present comprehensive weekly project reports, including:

Incident/accident reports

Schedule updates (planned vs. actual)

12-week lookahead

Procurement forecasts (including long-lead items)

Weekly variation log (issued to the Quantity Surveyor)

Notifications of any delays, disruptions, or risks to planned activities

Lead weekly coordination meetings with key stakeholders (foremen, Safety Advisor, QA Engineer, BIM teams).

Ensure all meeting actions are recorded, assigned, and closed out prior to the next meeting.

Maintain accurate minutes and clear action ownership for all project meetings.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years experience managing large-scale electrical projects such as commercial offices, retail developments, hotels, schools, or data centres.

Data centre project experience is highly desirable.

Trade or Engineering qualification preferred, with recent experience managing major electrical contracts.

Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

Proven track record in managing project schedules, budgets, and resources within complex, fast-paced environments.
