QA Automation Engineer – Playwright (10 years)

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with 10+ years of software testing and automation experience and strong hands-on expertise in Playwright. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in designing and developing automation frameworks, UI and API testing, regression testing, test strategy, and CI/CD integration. Strong programming experience with Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript and experience working in Agile environments are required. The candidate should be capable of independently driving automation initiatives, identifying quality risks, and collaborating closely with development, product, and QA teams. Financial services or banking domain experience is highly preferred. This position is based in Chicago, IL.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust UI automation test frameworks using Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Lead automation testing activities across functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and cross-browser testing.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for complex web applications and ensure high test coverage across critical business workflows.
• Perform API testing and integrate UI and API automation into comprehensive end-to-end test suites.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines and work with DevOps teams to support continuous testing and quality gates.
• Analyze test failures, identify root causes, troubleshoot automation issues, and work closely with developers to resolve defects.
• Participate in test planning, test strategy, defect management, Agile ceremonies, and code reviews, while providing technical guidance to other QA engineers.
• Continuously improve automation frameworks, testing processes, and quality practices while evaluating new tools and techniques to increase testing efficiency.
