Java / Angular Developer - Fedwire Applications

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Java / Angular Developer - Fedwire Applications for a contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in New York, NY .
Responsibilities :

• Develop and maintain applications and services using Core Java and Spring .
• Contribute to critical Fedwire applications and related systems .
• Build and support Java/Spring-based services, integrations, and application components.
• Develop and maintain front-end functionality using JavaScript and Angular .
• Work with Oracle databases , including SQL queries, stored procedures, JDBC, and schema interactions.
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code following established engineering standards.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, pair programming, and Agile ceremonies.
• Develop unit tests and troubleshoot application defects and production issues.
• Support bug fixes, enhancement requests, and sprint backlog items.
• Collaborate with QA teams on unit, security, functional, and performance testing .
• Maintain appropriate technical documentation.
• Work closely with senior developers to understand application architecture, development standards, and deployment/release processes.
• Leverage AI coding tools and development accelerators where appropriate to improve engineering productivity.

Required Skills :

• Java - strong Core Java and object-oriented programming fundamentals.
• Spring Framework - experience with Spring MVC and Spring Boot.
• Oracle / SQL - SQL queries, stored procedures, JDBC, and database/schema interactions.
• JavaScript
• Angular

Preferred Skills :

• Familiarity and comfort with AI-driven software development , including AI coding assistants and development accelerators.
• Experience working within the financial services industry .
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to learn new technologies, systems, and development standards quickly.
• Experience working within Agile development teams.
