Core Platform Engineer/Systems SRE

Position Overview

• Role: Core Platform Engineer (Level 1)

• Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite)

• Duration: 6–12 Months

Key Responsibilities

• Drive incident response drills, post-mortems, and root cause analysis (RCA) across the bare-metal and cloud infrastructure stack.

• Review system performance metrics and overnight alerts, triaging anomalies before they impact operations.

• Build observability layers from the ground up—defining SLIs/SLOs, eliminating monitoring gaps, and establishing proactive alerting strategies.

• Perform system-level diagnostics and kernel debugging (kernel panic analysis, kdump , memory allocation, and CPU scheduling issues).

• Write production-grade automation and infrastructure tooling in Python or Go.

• Automate bare-metal provisioning and cloud orchestration using Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, AWX).

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in deep Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or Linux Systems Engineering.

• Practical understanding of Linux kernel internals (scheduler, memory allocation, driver subsystems, kdump ).

• Strong programming proficiency in Python, Go, or similar languages.

• Proven incident command experience driving post-mortems and cross-functional RCA.

• Hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform, Ansible), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and TCP/IP network programming.

• Working knowledge of distributed storage systems (object, block, and/or file storage).
