Entry Level Application Development Opportunity

Year Up is seeking an Entry Level Application Developer to join our innovative Information Technology team. This unique position offers the opportunity to integrate technical skills with a meaningful mission in an educational setting. As part of our IT & Data Management department, the successful candidate will be integral to supporting our academic programs and services through the development and maintenance of application solutions. The developer will collaborate extensively with educational staff to understand and meet their technology needs, enhancing both faculty and student experiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and implement application solutions tailored to the needs of educational staff and students.
• Work closely with the IT team and various internal stakeholders to define system requirements and customize software applications accordingly.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for applications within the organization.
• Document all phases of software development including design, testing, and deployment.
• Participate in continuous learning to stay current with industry and educational technology trends.
• Assist in training staff and students on the use of new technologies and applications.

Required Skills

• Proficient in several programming languages such as Java, Python, or Java
• Script.
• Strong understanding of database management and software development life cycles.
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Foundational knowledge of web development frameworks and user interface design.
