Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced BMC MainView Consultant with strong expertise in BMC MainView, REXX, and Python. The consultant will be responsible for design, implementation, troubleshooting, automation, and ongoing support of BMC MainView within a complex mainframe systems environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform design analysis, documentation, testing, implementation, and support for BMC MainView in mainframe environments.

  • Provide technical consultation and customized recommendations related to BMC monitoring tools.

  • Install and manage mainframe software deployments across highly granular SYSPLEX environments.

  • Maintain quality, consistency, and reliability of systems software and automation processes.

  • Enhance installation scripts, reporting, and automation using JCL, REXX, SAS, SQL, Python, Java, and JavaScript.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve BMC MainView-related technical issues.

  • Support BMC MainView components such as MainView Explorer and MainView Viewer.

  • Complete assignments independently and meet established deadlines.

  • Identify, monitor, and appropriately escalate operational risks and control issues.

  • Contribute to strategic mainframe engineering initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Provide input and follow-through for improving mainframe systems engineering processes and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of relevant mainframe experience.

  • Strong hands-on experience with BMC MainView.

  • Strong programming/scripting experience with REXX and Python.

  • Experience with mainframe software installation and deployment.

  • Experience working in SYSPLEX environments.

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
