Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Spring Lodge Vets, Witham on a full-time or part-time basis.

 

Spring Lodge Vets are an RCVS-accredited small animal hospital in Witham, Essex with 5 other accredited branches all a short drive from the hospital. Three of these branches are ‘stand-alone’ branches with facilities to image and operate. The other two branches are ‘consulting only’ branches which feed into the main hospital.

The main hospital in Witham is in walkable distance to a main line train station for easy access to London and is within driving distance to the East coast. We have a good mixture of surrounding countryside and town, and we are only half an hour from Stansted Airport. Our fantastic team is based across all 6 of our sites and is made up of 17 nurses, 10 vets and 22 support staff.

 

Practice Highlights

 

*Fully equipped practice with full in-house lab, separate isolation, cat and dog wards. We have an orthopaedic theatre and extensive surgical kit, including laparoscopic equipment and various endoscopes. All X-ray machines are digital; 3 of the sites have an ultrasound machine

*ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic as well as a RWAF Rabbit Friendly Clinic

*Vets and nurses who hold certificates in orthopaedics, surgery, cardiology, and ophthalmology, with a caseload of eye operations referred to the hospital

*We have a few nurses working towards advanced diplomas and fully support development

 

How You’ll Make a Difference

 

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

 

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

 

Working Pattern

 
* Ideally 40 hours per week but we can be flexible 
* Shifts across all 6 sites between 7:30 am - 7:30 pm 
* Shared Saturday morning rota
 
 

General Responsibilities

 
* Inpatient care
* Monitoring anaesthesia 
* Nurse consults
* Radiography 
*Lab work
