Founding Talent Lead

About the Role

A B2B SaaS startup is seeking its first dedicated talent hire to own recruiting end to end. You will build hiring pipelines across technical and non-technical teams, with an immediate focus on engineering, and help shape a thoughtful candidate experience as the company grows.

What You'll Do

• Build candidate pipelines from scratch, primarily for engineering roles, then expand sourcing to go-to-market and other functions.

• Manage the full candidate lifecycle, including outreach, screening, interview coordination, and closing.

• Provide a warm, attentive candidate experience throughout the recruiting process.

• Partner with founders to define role requirements and align on candidate profiles.

• Support light people operations, including offer letters and process improvements.

What We're Looking For

• At least 4 years of technical recruiting experience, including recruiting software engineers at a high-growth B2B SaaS startup.

• Experience as an in-house technical recruiter, ideally as the first or only recruiter at an early-stage startup.

• A track record of owning engineering hiring end to end, from proactive sourcing of passive candidates through closing.

• Comfort building pipelines without depending on a well-known brand or high inbound volume.

• Warm, thoughtful communication with candidates and stakeholders, and a history of sustained tenure in multiple roles.

• Experience using Ashby or a similar modern recruiting platform is helpful.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $150,000 to $235,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site, five days per week in San Francisco, California.
