Job Description

Linn Cooperative Oil Company  is hiring a Custom Applicator  to join our team in Central City, IA (about 25 miles northeast of Cedar Rapids). In this role you will be the face of the co-op during the growing season. From spraying fields and delivering products to maintaining equipment and working directly with growers, you play an important role in providing dependable service to our customers.

What you will be doing:

  • Operate spraying, spreading, and other custom application equipment according to application tickets.
  • Properly mix and apply fertilizer and crop protection products to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Deliver agronomy and farm products to customers.
  • Complete and submit application and delivery records accurately and on time.
  • Maintain custom application equipment, farm machinery, agriculture equipment, fertilizer facilities, and warehouse areas as assigned.
  • Monitor inventory needs and report them to management.
  • Provide friendly, dependable customer service and assist growers with questions or concerns.
  • Follow company safety procedures and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which will be provided.
  • Identify and report unsafe equipment or working conditions.

Schedule

Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Overtime and weekend work are required during busy seasons.

 

This job is for you if you have:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and Class B CDL required.
  • Tanker and Hazmat endorsements preferred.
  • Certified Applicator License (minimum 1A, 1B, and 1C) or ability to obtain required licenses.
  • Farming or agricultural background preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain application equipment and farm machinery.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift 50-100 pounds.
  • Insurable driving record.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug and alcohol screening.
