Production Support & Reporting Product Maintenance

Key Skills: Palantir Foundry | Python | PySpark | SQL | Foundry Ontology | Workshop | Code Repositories | Pipeline Builder | TypeScript | React/OSDK

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Palantir Foundry Data Engineer to maintain production data pipelines and reporting products. The role focuses on pipeline reliability, incident resolution, data quality and ensuring users receive accurate, timely reporting.

You will provide L2/L3 support across data ingestion, transformation, curated datasets, Foundry Ontology and Workshop applications, working closely with platform teams, data owners, product owners and service management to meet agreed SLAs and reporting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor data pipelines, builds, schedules, data syncs and reporting refreshes; investigate failures, stale data and downstream dependencies.
  • Own incidents from investigation through recovery and closure, performing root cause analysis and coordinating escalations where required.
  • Recover failed processing through controlled retries, rebuilds and backfills, validating outputs and dependent reporting products.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Python, PySpark and SQL transformations in Code Repositories and pipelines in Pipeline Builder.
  • Support schema changes, incremental processing, data quality checks, error handling and performance optimisation.
  • Maintain Foundry Ontology object types, properties, links and backing datasets, resolving mapping and data update issues.
  • Support Workshop dashboards and reporting applications, including filters, charts, object sets, calculated measures and refresh issues.
  • Validate KPI calculations, aggregations, reporting periods and source-to-target reconciliation following fixes and releases.
  • Investigate access issues across datasets, Ontology resources and applications, following approved permissions and data security controls.
  • Improve pipeline reliability, application performance and resource utilisation; automate monitoring and reconciliation where appropriate.
  • Deliver controlled changes using code reviews, regression testing, rollback plans and post-release validation.
  • Maintain runbooks, incident records, dependency maps and support documentation.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, supporting production data pipelines and live reporting applications.
  • Strong Python, PySpark and SQL skills, including troubleshooting, defect resolution and processing optimisation.
  • Practical experience with Foundry Code Repositories, Pipeline Builder, Data Connection, Data Lineage, builds, schedules and health checks.
  • Understanding of batch and incremental processing, schema evolution, pipeline dependencies, controlled reprocessing and data quality validation.
  • Working knowledge of Foundry Ontology, including object types, properties, links and backing datasets.
  • Experience maintaining Workshop dashboards and applications, troubleshooting reporting discrepancies, filters, charts, object sets and performance issues.
  • Understanding of dataset, Ontology and application permissions and their impact on user access and reporting.
  • Experience with Git, branching, code reviews, testing, release management and downstream impact assessment.
  • Experience with incident, problem and change management processes, including root cause analysis, prioritisation and clear stakeholder communication.

Desirable Skills

  • Foundry Functions using TypeScript or Python, and reporting tools such as Contour or Quiver.
  • React and OSDK experience for Foundry application development and maintenance.
  • AWS S3, APIs and database integrations feeding Foundry, including source connectivity and authentication troubleshooting.
  • Healthcare or public sector reporting, KPI definitions, reporting calendars, reconciliation and sensitive data handling.
  • Foundry release packaging, deployment, performance tuning, operational automation and transition into live support.
