Kafka Administrator (Ansible)

The Kafka Administrator (Ansible) will be responsible for administering Confluent Kafka clusters in a production environment, with a strong emphasis on automation. This role involves automating Kafka deployment and operations using Ansible, including developing and troubleshooting Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules. The administrator will design idempotent and scalable automation solutions and integrate them with CI/CD and Git workflows.

Key responsibilities also include hands-on Linux administration, securing Kafka environments, and monitoring with tools like Prometheus, Thanos, and Grafana. The position requires diagnosing and resolving Kafka performance, replication, partitioning, and consumer-lag issues, as well as managing Kafka topics, schemas, and connector integrations. The role also involves automating hybrid Linux/Windows/cloud infrastructure and developing enterprise-grade automation solutions by converting manual processes into automated workflows.

This is a contract assignment, with an onsite presence required 5 days a week in Woodlawn, MD.
