Software Engineer - Test & Verification
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico (On-site)
Alternate Location: El Segundo, CA, Kent, WA
Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a Software Test & Verification Engineer to support test planning, verification strategy, and implementation planning. This role will focus on designing and developing software and hardware in the loop integration labs (SIL & HWIL). The position involves creating a full, all-software test and integration environment to accelerate development and reduce risk.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide plans and strategies for system testing once implementation begins.
• Support testing and verification planning during the architecture phase.
• Assist with infrastructure planning activities and help define testing environments.
• Design, develop, test, and integrate software models to emulate hardware component behavior.
• Partner with hardware engineers to identify and review requirements.
• Develop, automate, and administer emulation strategies and technologies.
• Develop verification plans, test procedures, and test environments.
• Identify, debug, and resolve issues to ensure the reliability of software products.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher.
Experience: 5-10 years of experience is preferred. A minimum of 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing software test environments, including hardware, software, and network configuration is required. Experience in hardware/software integration, emulation, and/or testing, preferably in a lab environment, is also necessary.
Technical Skills: Foundational computer science knowledge and familiarity with object-oriented design and software patterns. Experience with test-driven development, agile software development, DevSecOps, and CI/CD is required.
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a lab environment.
• Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following: Java, C++, Python, JS frameworks (REACT, jQuery UI, Open Layers), Spring Framework, Hibernate, RDBMS, MongoDB, REST, and OpenAPI.
• Experience with dependency management and automation services such as Ivy, Maven, Gradle, Git, or Jenkins.
• Experience using cloud-based infrastructure like AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with APIs (SOAP, REST), middleware, and data formats (XML, JSON).
• Experience with software/hardware emulation for ground systems, control systems, embedded FPGA, or operator interfaces.

Work Location
This position is 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work at one of the listed locations.
Travel
This position may require travel up to 20% of the time.
