Install Technician

Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) is seeking an Install Technician to support infrastructure delivery in our data centers. In this role, you will install and configure servers, racks, power, and networking hardware, ensuring reliable, scalable capacity for millions of customers. You will follow detailed runbooks, perform structured cabling, verify connectivity, and document all changes in AWS systems. Working in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment, you'll collaborate with operations and network teams, troubleshoot hardware issues, and strictly adhere to safety, security, and compliance standards while continuously improving installation processes.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test infrastructure hardware in AWS data centers, including servers, racks, cabling, and network devices
• Execute infrastructure delivery plans and follow standard operating procedures to meet deployment timelines and quality standards
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on physical infrastructure issues, escalating complex problems as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations, asset inventory, and change records using AWS tools and systems
• Collaborate with network, systems, and operations teams to support large-scale deployments and upgrades
• Follow safety, security, and compliance requirements in highly controlled data center environments
• Monitor infrastructure health indicators during and after installations to ensure stable operations
• Continuously improve installation methods by identifying process gaps and contributing to automation and tooling enhancements

Required Skills

• Data center infrastructure installation
• Rack and stack of servers and network gear
• Structured cabling (fiber and copper)
• Network fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching)

• Reading and following technical diagrams and SOPs
