Job Description

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician for night shifts to support critical AWS data center infrastructure. You will monitor and troubleshoot servers, networks, and facility systems, respond to incidents, perform deployments and maintenance, and follow strict change and security controls. Partnering with engineering and operations teams, you'll document procedures, improve runbooks, and drive root-cause analysis to maintain high availability. This role is ideal for detail-oriented technicians who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment and want hands-on experience with large-scale cloud systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain AWS data center servers, networks, and supporting infrastructure during night shifts.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents, alerts, and outages following defined SLAs and escalation paths.
  • Perform routine maintenance, deployments, and hardware replacements according to change-management procedures.
  • Document runbooks, procedures, and incident reports to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive root-cause analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and safety standards within the data center environment.
  • Use monitoring and ticketing tools to track system health, incidents, and work progress.
  • Contribute to process improvements to increase reliability, efficiency, and automation of operations.
