Data Scientist Senior
Location: McLean, Virginia (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and execution-focused Senior Data Scientist to support an AI Execution function. This role focuses on leveraging Python and Generative AI technologies to build, test, validate, and enhance AI solutions that support business objectives. This position emphasizes problem understanding, rapid experimentation, data operationalization, and applied AI to turn raw data and emerging AI capabilities into practical, reusable solutions.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement AI-powered applications using Python and LLM technologies.
• Design, test, and refine prompts while validating AI-generated outputs.
• Build quality controls and guardrails to improve accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with technical teams to integrate and deploy solutions.
• Partner with business teams to understand complex problem statements and translate them into AI-enabled solutions.
• Extract, clean, and structure data from raw and heterogeneous sources to enable analytics and GenAI use cases.
• Contribute reusable code, patterns, and documentation to shared repositories.

Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred. Candidates with less education should demonstrate exceptional relevant experience.
Experience: 5-7+ years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills:

• Strong Python development skills.
• Hands-on Prompt Engineering and Large Language Model (LLM) experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Experience with Bitbucket and version control.

Preferred Qualifications

• End-to-end AI solution development experience.
• Experience with OpenAI or Anthropic APIs.
• Experience with RAG and vector databases.
• Financial Services or Mortgage domain knowledge.
• An Applied AI Engineering background.
