Overview :

Position Overview

We are seeking additional resources for a staff augmentation and OSE-type role supporting a large-scale Dell ObjectScale storage environment. The team will provide continuous 24/7 operational coverage, with a focus on hands-on infrastructure support, incident response, hardware troubleshooting, and maintaining storage service availability.
This role is best suited for an experienced data center, storage, or onsite service professional who is comfortable supporting distributed object storage infrastructure, physical server and network components, cabling, transceivers, power procedures, and coordinated hardware break/fix activities.

Work Model and Coverage

  • Hybrid staff augmentation model with onsite presence required for physical troubleshooting and remediation
  • Continuous 24/7 coverage across all shifts, including evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Schedule and rotation to be coordinated with the partner team and site operations
  • Frequent interaction with remote storage operations, engineering, hardware support, networking, and escalation teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support day-to-day operations for the ObjectScale storage environment
  • Respond to infrastructure and storage incidents across all 24/7 coverage windows, including daytime, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts
  • Perform onsite triage of storage nodes, network connectivity, cabling, transceivers, power, and related infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and remediate physical-layer issues involving cables, optics, transceivers, ports, and network paths
  • Support hardware break/fix activities, including component replacement, reseating, post-repair validation, and return-to-service testing
  • Perform controlled power pulls, power cycles, and equipment resets when authorized and required by approved procedures
  • Assist with investigation of node, drive, controller, network interface, and other hardware-related alerts
  • Validate storage and system health after maintenance or hardware intervention, coordinating with remote teams as needed
  • Support operational activities related to capacity, node availability, service health, and incident recovery
  • Coordinate with storage, networking, engineering, and vendor support teams to isolate faults and restore service
  • Capture clear incident notes, actions taken, component details, alerts, and validation results in designated operational systems
  • Identify recurring failure patterns and escalate trends, capacity concerns, and operational risks
  • Follow data center access, safety, ESD, change-management, maintenance-window, and chain-of-custody requirements
  • Contribute to runbooks, shift handoff notes, operational checklists, and continuous-improvement activities

Required Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise storage, data center, server, networking, or onsite infrastructure operations
  • Hands-on experience with hardware break/fix, component replacement, and structured troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot physical-layer issues involving cabling, transceivers, optics, ports, and connectivity paths
  • Familiarity with distributed storage, object storage, or other clustered infrastructure environments
  • Ability to work safely around racks, storage systems, high-density cabling, and facility power
  • Willingness and ability to perform controlled power pulls or power cycles when authorized
  • Strong troubleshooting discipline, attention to detail, and ability to follow documented procedures
  • Comfortable working independently during off-hours while escalating appropriately when needed
  • Ability to document incidents and communicate effectively across shift handoffs and distributed teams
  • Availability for second- and third-shift coverage, including evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and rotation-based support as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Dell ObjectScale or comparable enterprise object storage platforms
  • Knowledge of object storage concepts, including nodes, buckets, replication, erasure coding, data protection, and service health
  • Experience supporting S3-compatible storage environments or large-scale distributed storage systems
  • Familiarity with storage networking, Ethernet connectivity, optical transceivers, and structured data center cabling
  • Experience with remote hands, onsite service engineering, NOC, storage operations, or staff augmentation models
  • Familiarity with incident, change, asset, maintenance, and problem-management processes
  • Experience supporting large-scale deployments where consistent execution and repeatable procedures are critical
  • Ability to interpret hardware alerts, monitoring events, runbooks, and troubleshooting procedures

Success Measures

  • Timely response and restoration of incidents during assigned coverage windows
  • Accurate identification and remediation of storage, node, drive, network, cable, transceiver, and power-related issues
  • Safe, controlled execution of power pulls and component-level interventions
  • High-quality documentation and reliable shift handoffs
  • Effective coordination with remote storage, engineering, networking, and support teams
  • Reduced repeat incidents through pattern recognition, escalation, and operational improvements
  • Consistent adherence to site, safety, security, maintenance-window, and change-control requirements

Partner Team Profile Requested

Please provide candidates who can support an onsite, hands-on ObjectScale storage operations environment and who have demonstrated experience with off-hours data center support. Candidates should be comfortable with physical troubleshooting, authorized power procedures, hardware break/fix, storage and network fault isolation, documentation, and collaboration with remote engineering teams.

Engagement Summary

  • Role type: Staff augmentation / OSE-type onsite operations resource
  • Environment: Dell ObjectScale distributed object storage infrastructure
  • Coverage: 24/7 operations across all shifts, including evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Primary focus: ObjectScale operations, storage and node health, hardware break/fix, cable and transceiver troubleshooting, controlled power intervention, incident response, documentation, and escalation
