RESPONSIBILITIES
Kforce has a client in Muncie, IN that is seeking an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer.
What You'll Do
- Partner with manufacturing to identify and resolve production issues
- Troubleshoot electrical and system-level problems during assembly
- Drive corrective actions and prevent repeat issues
- Serve as the connection between design engineering and the factory
- Provide feedback to improve product designs and manufacturability
- Participate in design reviews and help ensure designs can be built efficiently
- Support continuous improvement efforts (quality, cost, and cycle time)
- Work with suppliers and cross-functional teams as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate's degree
- Engineering or technical background (electrical, mechanical, or related)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings (required)
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take ownership
- Hands-on mindset and comfort working in a production environment
- Ability to communicate clearly across teams (engineering, manufacturing, suppliers)
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities
- Customer-focused mindset (internal and external)
- Ability to learn quickly and grow into broader responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, including manufacturing personnel.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple issues concurrently. High level of organization and strong sense of prioritization
- Strong root cause problem-solving abilities and experience addressing complex technical problems
- Above average electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and understand locomotive electrical schematics and application drawings
- Knowledge of electrical systems and electrical components; shop level locomotive experience beneficial
- Proficiency in computer programs relevant to assigned position, e.g., TeamCenter, NX Unigraphics, SAP, ERP LN 10.7, as well as Progress Rail specific programs and applications
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems
- Experience in manufacturing or assembly environments
- Familiarity with CAD or engineering systems (NX, Teamcenter, SAP, etc.)
- Exposure to lean/continuous improvement practices
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
