Engineering Technician

Location: Guilford, Connecticut (Onsite)

Role Overview

As a Engineering Technician, you will work as part of a team at the crossroads of medical diagnostics and point-of-care products. This role is responsible for the manufacturing of diagnostic components, from prototypes to final assembly. You will work alongside a team of scientists and engineers in a hands-on environment to expand access to high-accuracy diagnostic testing hardware.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and test design concepts and manufactured products.
  • Maintain manufacturing assembly tools and automation.
  • Contribute to written documentation, including test plans and work instructions.
  • Manage laboratory consumables, supplies, and inventory of project-related materials.
  • Implement good laboratory procedures.
  • Work in cleanroom and dry room laboratories.
Required Qualifications

Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience at an engineering-based or science-based technology company as a lab technician, assembly technician, or engineering/test technician.
  • Experience following work instructions and test procedures for product manufacturing.
  • Experience using QC inspection tools and performing first article inspections.


Technical Skills:
  • Comfortable using software tools for communication and data collection (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, Google Drive).
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mechanical design software experience, including reading mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with BOM management and product lifecycle management tools, such as PDM and Propel.
  • Product manufacturing experience, including interacting with robotic assembly tools and managing material inventory.
  • Familiarity with tools such as microscopes, QC inspection tools, pressure testers, and pipettes.
