Power BI Consultant (DB2/WebFOCFOCUS)

Overview:

• We are seeking a hands-on Power BI Developer / BI Developer with strong SQL, IBM DB2, data modeling, data transformation, and reporting experience.
• The ideal candidate will have experience working with financial data, legacy/Mainframe data, Power BI administration, and enterprise reporting environments.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing data environments and determine required data transformations for dashboard and report development.
• Develop an organization-wide Power BI reporting roadmap in collaboration with management.
• Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, dataflows, and paginated reports.
• Convert WebFOCMainframe FOCUS queries into T-SQL.
• Work with DBAs to create database views and stored procedures supporting Power BI reporting.
• Automate data transformation and reduce dependency on Excel pivot tables/manual analysis.
• Analyze financial data and improve financial-system data models.
• Administer dedicated Power BI workspaces.
• Integrate multiple data sources and apply appropriate data modeling techniques.
• Train business users on Power BI reports and reporting capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Business Intelligence experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on Microsoft Power BI dashboard and report development.
• Strong SQL/T-SQL experience.
• Hands-on IBM DB2 database experience.
• Experience with Power BI Paginated Reports and Power BI Dataflows.
• Experience with Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, and Operational Data Stores (ODS).
• Strong understanding of Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and OLAP Cubes.
• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance.
• Experience integrating multiple data sources.
• Experience with financial data reporting, including General Ledger, Purchasing, Revenue, or related financial systems.
• Experience with Mainframe flat files.
• Experience with WebFOCUS / Mainframe FOCUS queries.
• Experience with Power BI Workspace Administration.
• Experience integrating Power BI with Power Automate, Power Apps, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Experience working in SCRUM/Agile environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience modernizing or converting legacy reporting solutions into Power BI/T-SQL.
• Experience working closely with DBAs, business stakeholders, and financial-system teams.
