Job Description

Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) Temp to Hire Role 50-90 per hour depending on experience We're seeking an experienced **Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the design, implementation, and security of mission-critical information systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with cybersecurity engineering, RMF, system accreditation, and securing Windows and Linux environments.

  • Lead RMF package development and support system accreditation efforts (ATO).
  • Integrate security throughout the system lifecycle using security-by-design principles.
  • Perform security assessments, risk analysis, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities.
  • Support Windows and Linux hardening, patch management, and secure system configurations.
  • Develop security documentation, technical recommendations, and engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with federal and industry security standards. Overview
  • Experience supporting RMF, A&A, and system authorization activities.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, security controls, and risk management.
  • Experience securing Windows and Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with STIGs, vulnerability management, and compliance validation.
  • Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Experience with cloud security, DevSecOps, container technologies, or CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated environments is preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
