Position Summary

Certified Technical Experts, Inc. (CTE) is seeking an experienced Senior DevSecOps / Cloud / Platform Engineer to design, operate, and improve secure cloud and DevSecOps platforms that support modern software delivery for Federal public health applications. This role builds reliable CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, container platforms, security controls, and operational tooling that enable engineering teams to deliver software safely and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

•  Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, container platforms, and automated deployment processes.

•  Manage infrastructure as code, environment configuration, secrets, certificates, and deployment automation.

•  Support Kubernetes-based platforms and container packaging across development, test, staging, and operational environments.

•  Integrate automated code quality, security scanning, artifact management, and deployment gates into delivery pipelines.

•  Collaborate with engineering, QA, cybersecurity, architecture, and operations teams to improve delivery reliability and security.

•  Monitor platform health, deployment performance, capacity, logs, and operational events and resolve platform issues.

•  Implement repeatable environment provisioning and configuration-management practices.

•  Support release management, disaster recovery, backup, observability, and operational readiness activities.

•  Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve pipeline speed, consistency, and resilience.

•  Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and platform standards.

Required Qualifications

•  6+ years of DevSecOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or related experience.

•  Strong experience with GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD systems, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, and container technologies.

•  Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud environments.

•  Experience integrating code quality, SAST/DAST, artifact, and container-security tooling into delivery pipelines.

•  Strong Linux, scripting, automation, networking, and troubleshooting skills.

•  Experience with infrastructure as code, configuration management, and automated environment provisioning.

•  Understanding of Federal security, vulnerability management, and least-privilege practices.

•  Strong collaboration and technical documentation skills.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Preferred: Advanced cloud, DevOps, or platform engineering training.

Target Certifications

•  AWS or Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer certification

•  Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

•  HashiCorp Terraform Associate

Equivalent or advanced certifications may be considered where appropriate based on the candidate’s experience and the needs of the position.

Preferred Experience

•  Federal or health IT DevSecOps experience.

•  Experience with GitHub, SonarQube, Fortify, container registries, and automated security gates.

•  Experience with Argo CD, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native observability.

•  Experience supporting Java/Spring-based enterprise applications.

•  Familiarity with FISMA and NIST security environments.

•  Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

•  Must be able to successfully complete the applicable Government background investigation.

•  Must be eligible to obtain and maintain required Federal credentials and information-system access.

•  Must comply with applicable Federal security, privacy, confidentiality, and acceptable-use requirements.
