Job Description
Senior Ecommerce Executive
£47,000
12-Month FTC
Northamptonshire - Hybrid
Want to work with major global brands without the London commute?
Join one of Northamptonshire’s biggest employers and take real ownership of digital performance.
We’re recruiting a Digital Merchandising Lead for a large, global retail business with an office between Northampton, Leicester and Peterborough and offers hybrid working, 2 days a week in the office (with air con).
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a strong commercial focus. You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of major supplier brands, using digital performance data and customer insight to improve online sales, conversion and visibility.
You’ll work across Digital Merchandising, Marketing, Product and Supply Chain, while also building strong relationships directly with suppliers.
You'll join a large digital merchandising team and report into a Digital Merchandising Manager, with a good blend of autonomy and support. This role would suit someone who enjoys the balance of commercial strategy, digital performance analysis, supplier management and hands-on delivery.
What you’ll be doing
- Own the digital performance of global brands sold through a huge retailer's website.
- Work with global brands to shape investment in digital campaigns, content and merchandising.
- Lead quarterly reviews, presenting results and agreeing priorities for the next quarter.
- Build digital merchandising plans that look 3 to 9 months ahead.
- Use customer behaviour and analytics to spot opportunities to improve the online journey.
- Build strong supplier relationships and become a trusted commercial partner.
- Lead renewal conversations and help secure future supplier investment.
- Manage new supplier onboarding from initial pitch through to contract negotiation.
- Turn reporting into practical recommendations rather than simply presenting the numbers.
What we’re looking for
- Digital merchandising, ecommerce or a closely related digital commercial role
- You may currently have the title: Senior Ecommerce Executive, Ecommerce Executive, Digital Merchandiser, Digital Merchandising Lead, Ecommerce Merchandiser, Online Trading Executive, Junior Ecommerce Manager or Assistant Ecommerce Manager or similar.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into practical recommendations
- Experience using digital analytics and search insight tools, ideally including Adobe Analytics, Google Trends, or similar platforms
- A good understanding of digital merchandising KPIs including traffic, conversion, search performance and online sales
- Confidence identifying opportunities to improve UX and customer experience
- Experience managing supplier, agency or external partner relationships
The role
- Salary: £47,000 + up to 10% bonus + great benefits
- Hybrid working: 2 days onsite in Northamptonshire
- Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract
If you’re a Digital Merchandiser looking for a commercially focused role where you can directly influence online performance and work with major brands, this could be a strong next move.
