Mid-weight Communications Strategist [209763]
Quick Overview
Job Description
Job Title: Mid-weight Strategist
Location: London (Victoria – 3 days hybrid: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 basic + Performance Bonus Scheme + Premium Benefits
Employment Type: Permanent
Are you a sharp, fast-thinking Comms Planner who loves the craft of agency strategy but wants to escape corporate red tape and endless network bureaucracy? We are a thriving, 15-person independent integrated agency experiencing rapid international growth. We are searching for a confident, client-facing Strategist to take the tactical reins on our flagship account—a world-renowned global financial services and luxury card brand. If you thrive in a nimble, close-knit environment and love turning fast-paced briefs into high-performing customer communication frameworks, this is your home base.
What’s in it for you?
- Financial Reward: £45,000 - £55,000 base salary plus an agency-wide performance bonus scheme.
- Work-Life Balance: 25 days holiday + 3 days at Christmas shutdown + your Birthday off as paid leave.
- Health & Wellness: Private health insurance and a monthly gym membership contribution.
- Culture & Impact: Direct access to agency founders, zero corporate bloat, and a clear progression path into future strategic leadership.
What you’ll be doing
- Deconstruct & Distil: Ingest high-frequency, tactical briefs from our anchor financial client across luxury consumer, small business, and corporate merchant tiers.
- Craft the Proposition: Define the exact channel architecture, messaging frameworks, and single-minded propositions (SMPs) that guide creative copywriters and designers.
- Own the Digital Journey: Focus heavily on high-impact customer communications—building intelligent strategies optimised for email ecosystems, mobile apps, and social channels.
- Command the Room: Act as a trusted strategic advisor to senior clients. Lead client presentations, demonstrate your expertise live, and confidently defend your strategic choices under pushback.
What you’ll bring
- Agency Experience: 3 to 6 years of proven experience as a Strategist or Planner in a UK marketing agency environment (prior experience in a small/independent agency is strongly preferred).
- True Comms Planning DNA: Deep expertise in traditional comms planning, asset mapping, customer messaging, and creative brief writing.
- Tactical Channel Expertise: A portfolio rich in high-volume email-led campaigns, lifecycle CRM, app integrations, and targeted digital activations rather than slow-moving TV or traditional Out-Of-Home (OOH).
- Sector Familiarity: Financial services or premium B2C experience is a definite plus, but your core comms planning mechanics and agency agility matter most.
- Client Confidence: Natural presence when presenting to clients, with the resilience to navigate constructive live debate and defend your work with authority.
