Position Overview

This entry-level opportunity supports an established design engineering group responsible for components that are foundational to the success of the machines they support. The Mechanical Design Engineer will support a Senior Design Engineer by completing assigned design tasks, with potential for additional responsibility as experience and success in the role are demonstrated. Ideal candidates will bring a genuine interest in mechanical design and a desire to build a long-term career in the field.

Key Contributions & Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Design Engineer by completing assigned design tasks
  • Perform concept design and part modeling using Creo
  • Conduct stress and life analysis on components
  • Take on additional responsibility over time as experience and demonstrated success grow

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (e.g., Manufacturing, Automotive) AND
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience

Top Skills

  • Creo 3D modeling experience specifically (proficiency in another modeling software is not a substitute)
  • Ability to read technical drawings and prints
  • Mechanical design experience

Additional Technical Skills - Nice to Have

  • Proficient in Creo Simulate FEA
  • Understanding of basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with steel or iron casting design
  • Knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
  • Practical, hands-on experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
