Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Senior NAV Developer with a strong techno-functional background to support and enhance our highly customized Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 (Classic Client) environment. This is an opportunity for a hands-on expert who can bridge both technical development and functional/business process needs across our finance and operations functions. This role requires deep, hands-on experience with a legacy NAV environment — most consultants transitioned away from Classic Client and C/AL development over a decade ago, so we're looking for someone who has maintained and continued to build that expertise. Ourenvironment has no API or web connectivity, so all integrations and enhancements are built and maintained natively within NAV.  Reporting to the Business Applications Manager, this person will play a key role in keeping our core ERP system running smoothly across 100+ locations nationwide.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain in-house customizations within NAV 2009 R2 Classic Client using C/AL and C/SIDE
  • Support and enhance financial modules, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and posting routines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to posting logic, journals, and financial data integrity
  • Design, build, and maintain integrations between NAV and other internal systems using native NAV tools (no API/web-based integration)
  • Support and maintain Jet Reports for financial and operational reporting
  • Partner with finance and operations stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Document technical specifications, customizations, and system processes
Required Qualifications
  • Extensive, hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 Classic Client — including C/AL programming and C/SIDE development
  • Strong functional knowledge of NAV Financials, including posting routines, GL setup and financial reporting
  • Proven experience designing and supporting integrations within a NAV environment (native, non-API-based)
  • Techno-functional background — comfortable working directly with both code and business stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience in a manufacturing, homebuilding, or distribution environment a plus
  • Experience with Jet Reports a strong plus, but not required Work Arrangement
