Senior / Staff Software Engineer - AI Products

A fantastic opportunity for a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to join an innovative AI software company building products that help businesses understand their customers and make better decisions. You will own substantial features across an AI-powered research platform, combining intuitive user experiences with reliable backend systems. This role requires early-stage startup experience, strong full-stack React and TypeScript skills, and a Computer Science degree from a top-30 university.

Location: New York, NY. In-office, five days per week. Relocation support available.

Salary: $200,000 - $300,000 annual base salary + equity

Requirements for Senior / Staff Software Engineer:

• Typically 4+ years of professional experience in full-stack or product engineering, although exceptional candidates with some commercial experience and clear evidence of outstanding achievement will also be considered.
• Experience working at an early-stage startup, from Seed through Series D, ideally within a fast-growing business with high engineering standards
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a highly ranked leading University, with a history of excellent academic achievements
• Strong hands-on React and TypeScript experience, with substantial engineering capability across both frontend and backend
• Personal ownership of a major product, feature or platform from initial concept through to production, with measurable outcomes
• Strong product judgment and a natural interest in building great user experiences
• Evidence of standout achievement, such as rapid promotions, coding competition success, technical awards, or founder/founding engineer experience
• Ability to take ownership and deliver within a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements
• Strong independent coding and debugging skills; AI coding tools are not permitted during technical assessments
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with product and design teams
• Able to work from the New York office five days per week
• B2B product experience and familiarity with Python, Go or LLM-powered applications are beneficial

Responsibilities for Senior / Staff Software Engineer:

• Own major product features from initial requirements through to production release
• Build conversational interfaces and tools that help users explore analysis and insights
• Develop participant recruitment and self-service research functionality
• Create intuitive user experiences in collaboration with product and design teams
• Develop backend services, APIs and distributed systems supporting the platform
• Connect LLM pipelines with reliable application services and interfaces
• Contribute to shared design systems and consistent product experiences
• Improve platform performance, reliability and usability
