Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 3 days onsite; eventually 5 days/week)
Duration: 12 Months
Interview: 2 Rounds (Virtual/2 nd  Round In-Person)

Industry: Aerospace, heavy equipment, automotive manufacturing, or industrial manufacturing.

Job Summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Senior SDET to design, develop, and maintain enterprise test automation frameworks for web services and enterprise applications. The role focuses on Java-based automation, API testing, BDD frameworks, performance testing, CI/CD, and end-to-end integration testing while providing technical leadership and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance automation frameworks using Java/JavaScript.
• Create automation scripts using Java, Cucumber, Karate, JBehave, and JMeter.
• Perform REST API, integration, functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Design test strategies, test plans, and automation solutions.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and Agile development.
• Mentor QA engineers and collaborate with developers, Product Owners, and business teams.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of test automation framework development.
• Strong Java programming experience.
• Cucumber, JBehave (or other BDD frameworks).
• REST API/Web Services testing.
• SQL and relational databases.
• JMeter performance testing (3+ years).
• End-to-end integration and full-stack testing experience.
