About the Opportunity

We are supporting an organisation looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer / Technical Consultant to help deliver complex platform enhancements, integrations and application development initiatives.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who understands the ServiceNow platform beyond basic administration and configuration. You will be responsible for building reliable solutions, developing custom functionality where required, integrating ServiceNow with wider enterprise systems and working with stakeholders to turn technical requirements into effective platform capabilities.

The ideal candidate combines strong scripting and development skills with a practical understanding of ServiceNow implementation best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance ServiceNow applications, workflows and platform functionality.

• Write and maintain server-side and client-side scripts, including Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts and UI Policies.

• Build workflow automation using Flow Designer and other appropriate ServiceNow capabilities.

• Develop and maintain integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub and related integration technologies.

• Configure and extend ServiceNow applications while following platform best practices and minimising unnecessary customisation.

• Support development across ITSM, CMDB and other relevant ServiceNow modules.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, investigate defects and improve platform performance and reliability.

• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, testing and deployment activities.

• Work with architects, business analysts and functional consultants to translate requirements into technical solutions.

• Support platform upgrades, application maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Produce technical documentation and contribute to development standards and reusable components.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.

• Strong JavaScript skills and experience developing custom functionality on the ServiceNow platform.

• Practical experience with Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies and Glide APIs.

• Experience building workflows and automation using Flow Designer.

• Experience developing and supporting REST/SOAP integrations with external systems.

• Understanding of ServiceNow application architecture, security, access controls and update sets or application deployment practices.

• Experience working with ITSM and related platform capabilities.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver maintainable, production-ready solutions.

• Experience working within a structured development lifecycle, including testing, code review and deployment.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and business teams.

Nice to Have

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or relevant CSA/CIS certifications.

• Experience with IntegrationHub, MID Servers, Service Portal or UI Builder.

• Exposure to CMDB, CSDM, Discovery or ITOM.

• Experience developing scoped applications and reusable platform components.

• Familiarity with source control, automated testing and ServiceNow development tooling.

• Experience working within a ServiceNow consultancy or implementation partner.

• Exposure to Now Assist, AI Search or AI-enabled workflow automation.
