Tandem Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain applications on HPE NonStop/Tandem systems.
• Work extensively with TAL, TACL, COBOL, and/or SCOBOL.
• Develop and optimize SQL/SQL-MX queries and database programs.
• Perform application enhancements, production support, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Work with Guardian/OSS environments and NonStop system utilities.
• Develop and maintain batch processes, scripts, and system interfaces.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and production validation.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot system issues.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, system administrators, and other development teams.
• Prepare technical documentation and support release/deployment activities.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with HPE NonStop/Tandem development.
• Proficiency in TAL/TACL and COBOL/SCOBOL.
• Experience with SQL/SQL-MX and NonStop databases.
• Knowledge of Guardian and OSS environments.
• Experience with production support and application troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and software development methodologies.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Pathway, Enscribe, and NonStop utilities.
• Knowledge of APIs, file transfers, and system integrations.
• Experience in financial services, banking, payments, or other high-volume transaction environments.
• Familiarity with modernizing or migrating legacy Tandem applications.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
