Job Description

What You'll Deliver

This position will be for an initial 12 month fixed term contract, with potential for further work beyond this period. You may be required to participate in Urban Utilities' Emergency Management arrangements in an after-hours or on-call capacity, in line with your skillset. This additional work will be in accordance with your employment contract.

Drive the development, implementation and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide protective security and business resilience strategies, frameworks and processes. Partner with senior leaders and key stakeholders to identify, assess and manage security, resilience and disruption risks across Urban Utilities. Drive business understanding and the effective integration of security and resilience outcomes into business operation, investment and decision making. Provide specialist advice, scenario planning and risk modelling to support executive decision-making and organisational preparedness. Design and deliver improvement programs that uplift security and resilience maturity, strengthen operational continuity and support critical service delivery. Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of security and resilience specialists, fostering strong professional practice and clear delivery outcomes.

About You

  • Strong knowledge of protective security, business resilience frameworks, risk management processes and relevant legislative requirements.
  • Experience undertaking strategic and tactical risk modelling, scenario planning and business continuity improvement activities.
  • Proven ability to design, develop and deliver improvement programs and processes aligned to leading practice in security and business resilience.
  • Strong, collaborative leadership style with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence senior stakeholders and foster an inclusive, customer-focused culture.
  • Experience advising senior leadership teams on security and resilience maturity, continuous improvement and risk-based decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams of security and resilience specialists, ideally within a complex operational environment.
  • Relevant formal qualifications in security, resilience or a related discipline would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in critical infrastructure sectors would also be highly regarded.
