What you will do as the Assistant Director- Lead a team of professionals, role modelling our leadership behaviours, supporting a professional and collaborative working environment, coaching, giving continuous feedback, resolving conflict and facilitating career development.
- Draft data and AI related policies, procedures, and guidance material, as well as associated communications (e.g. intranet articles, presentations, etc).
- Draft and present papers to various internal decision-making and advisory bodies (e.g. the Data Strategy Program Board, the Data, Information & Security Committee, AI Steering Group and the Executive Management Board).
- Provide strategic input into various projects - both within and beyond the Data & Intelligence Branch - that relate to ways of working with data and AI.
In order to succeed in the role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience leading a project team or similar role in a fast-paced and large complex people-centred organisation.
- Experience in data/AI governance and/or management.
- Ability to think strategically, research, investigate and analyse complex issues to develop solutions and make recommendations.
- Ability to communicate complex issues simply, clearly and effectively in different forums, to engage collaboratively with line area teams, and to develop and maintain effective internal and external networks.

Salary: $127,908 - $141,555 ( plus 15.4% superannuation).
